Progress, not perfection

Man I love Timehop for reminding us of where we were last year.  I think too often in this society we have a tendency to compare where we are today to where we were just 30 days ago.  In life, and especially in business, it is so easy to compare month to month.  Heck, we have 28 day challenges or even 7 day challenges for working out, eating well, you name it, we can squeeze it into a 30 day and under challenge!

I see this happening all around me and in my thinking too. But how unfair is it to judge something in 30 days?  Our bodies go through hormonal changes, emotional changes and ebb and flow. That would be like judging New England based on any one of the winter months!  GAH!

A memory popped up for me today that reminded me where I was this time last year.  I was attending an Intuition Retreat which I quite honestly booked last minute and really wouldn't have been interested in going myself if my two other friends weren't going as well. Little did I know, it would be the spark I needed to ignite my fire.  It was right then and there that I decided I would be leaving my corporate job so that I could come home to the work I was intended to do in this lifetime.  The men and women and the amount of work we did turning inward to learn to trust our intuition was magical.

Today, I can look back on the ENTIRE years worth of growth and be proud of where I've come.

So instead of holding yourself accountable for the last 30 days, take a look back at your entire year and see how far you've come. If you really, truly, honestly can not find anything to celebrate in the last year, what can you do differently to change this one?
